Meet the Founder
Pat Guy brings over 30 years of enterprise healthcare IT experience to every Mindshovel engagement, the majority of it in PACS and DICOM image management. Throughout his career at one of the nation's largest healthcare organizations, Pat served as an IT Architect - designing, integrating, and implementing complex medical imaging and technology systems at scale.
"I enjoy the technical challenges, solving the hard problems, and seeing the look on a customer's face when everything comes together exactly as they envisioned."
Pat Guy, Founder
Beyond the enterprise, Pat has spent years immersed in audio and video from both home theater and commercial perspectives. He has served as a technical subject-matter expert - handling design, implementation, and after-sale support - for multiple AV organizations across Mobile and Baldwin County, and has architected and implemented home automation and networking solutions for residential properties of every scale, from modest installations to large, complex projects. Widely recognized as a go-to authority on networking, home automation, and AV solutions, Pat stays continually current with the latest technologies in each, ensuring every Mindshovel engagement benefits from proven, up-to-date expertise.
A proud alumnus of the University of South Alabama, Pat holds both undergraduate and master's degrees, giving him a deep technical foundation spanning architecture, systems integration, networking, and AV technology.
He also builds the tools he wants to exist: plugins and remotes for Unraid servers, integrations for Unfolded Circle remotes, and audio software for Roon and HQPlayer listeners. Everything he builds runs through the same discipline: AI-assisted review on every pull request, tests that can fail, and a human signing off before anything merges.
Services
Architecture reviews, build-versus-buy calls, and an honest read on where a codebase or a delivery process is hurting you.
Systems and integrations designed around how the hardware and the people using it actually behave, written down before anything is built.
Hands-on delivery: integrations, self-hosted infrastructure, CI and review pipelines, and the tests that keep them working after handoff.
AI
Pat builds and runs the infrastructure that lets AI agents do real engineering work safely: review that gates every merge, self-hosted pipelines, and Claude Code working inside the same rules as a human engineer.
A self-hosted review service runs two Claude agents on each pull request, a reviewer and an adversarial auditor, and posts a verdict that blocks the merge until the findings are fixed.
Shared gates on every repository: secret scanning, Conventional Commits, no untracked deferrals, tests required alongside code changes, and scope checks that keep each change to one concern.
Forgejo with Actions runners on dedicated hardware, Cloudflare tunnels for remote access, and a release path to GitHub Pages so public traffic never reaches the home network.
Claude Code works through scoped tokens and protected branches: it opens pull requests, answers review findings with tests, and merges only on green, while a human keeps the final say. MCP integrations connect it to audio measurement and music systems.

Where imaging AI earns its place in a radiology department: worklist triage, detection assists and quantification, and the integration, validation and monitoring work that decides whether it helps.
